Will mounting a plasma tv over a brick fireplce, cause any damage to the tv?like from the heat of the bricks ?

it will probably be used seldom but still would it be safe, if it was sometime used?

    I would not worry so much about the heat as the smoke particles.

    On top of fireplace is also way too high for comfortable viewing. A TV should be at about eye-level.

    I know two people here in New England that have done this and they have been using their fireplace a ton. If it is bad for the TV, it hasn’t happened yet. I am pretty sure it is ok.

    If your fireplace bricks get hot then there’s something wrong with your fireplace
