depends on the type of tv and the type of wall bracket. There are many different types of brackets that all fit differently.

whatever you do… make SURE you attach the bracket to the stud in the wall, it would be very pricy if you dont

    1. Locate the wall studs that you WILL secure the bracket to
    2. Locate & drill the holes for the wiring.
    3. Run the wiring.
    4. Attach the TV last.

Smartest idea is to get one of the brackets that swings away from the wall so you can access the back and anlge the Tv as needed for viewing.

Ok, I hang these things for a living. The first thing I will say is if your not confident you know what your doing, find someone who is. People go to school to learn rigging because it can be dangerous. You don’t want someone getting hurt because your TV fell on them.

The first rule in rigging is the 5 to 1 rule. This means that if your TV weighs 100 pounds, you shoould be able to hang 500 pounds on the bracket without it coming down!

If your hanging on wood studs, get yourself some heavy duty 3" lags. They will most likely come with the bracket.

If your hanging on metal studs you need to mount a plywood board first and then hang the TV on the board. You need to use toggle bolts on the metal studs which can be tricky. you need to probe the wall to find out exactly where the edges of the studs are and then drill a large hole dead center.

If your hanging on stone or brick get some heavy wedge anchors. If you’ve never used them before, buy a few extras and try them out on a test brick first before you go drilling holes in your wall.

Remember you need the most support at the top of the bracket. If it falls, the top will pull out from the wall first. The top is where most of the stress will be.

Once you hang your bracket, test it before hanging the TV. We like to get a couple guys to hang on it first, flailing their legs around. If it doesn’t come down, it’s safe to hang the TV.

    Just think safety.
